Alan Shadbolt – Director

Alan is a Director at Mill Pool Group, primarily responsible for leading the Consultancy activities of the Group, in addition to holding multiple NED roles for our respected clients.

Prior to undertaking this role, Alan was a co-owning Director at mcs Group, a Warwick based Main Contractor where Alan was Group Commercial Director for 14 years.

Well versed in all the Commercial functions of Construction and Real Estate, Alan is also very experienced in both contentious and non-contentious contract law, priding himself on identifying risk pre-contract and finding pragmatic solutions for all parties when disputes do occur.

Alan enjoys a variety of Sports outside of work, albeit most in a spectator capacity these days. That being said, you are likely to find him on a Golf course in the Summer months or alternatively the 19th hole!

Alan has a HNC in Building Studies, a BSc (Hons) Degree in Quantity Surveying and became a Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) in 2014. 

P.J. McGowan  – Director

P.J. is a Director at Mill Pool Group, and is responsible for managing and overseeing the Group’s development activities. P.J. has an extensive background in Groundworks and Civil Engineering. 

Within the Civil Engineering industry, he established an extensive client base with bespoke and specialist developers, prior to deciding to undertaking full design and build capability within the role of Principal Contractor.

P.J. has a BA (Hons) in management, Diplomas in both Building & Civil Engineering, as well as Construction Senior Management, a NEBOSH, and achieved Member of Chartered Institute of Builders (MCIOB) in 2019. 

Outside of work, P.J. is a long-suffering Aston Villa fan, and keen netball dad, with ambitious aspirations of one day, being able to play ‘respectable golf’.

Andy Clayton – Director

Andy is a Director at Mill Pool Group, and splits his time between the Development and Consultancy activities of the Group, with a strong focus on securing new opportunities for the Group. 

Prior to undertaking this role, Andy was Commercial Director for a national developer, having progressed from a background in Quantity Surveying.

Andy is a strong and focussed negotiator and is passionate in ensuring our services are communicated clearly and fairly to our clients to ensure a high percentage of repeat business across the Development and Consultancy businesses respectively. 

In his spare time Andy enjoys time with family and friends, training at the gym, playing five-a-side football and ‘relaxing’ watching his beloved Aston Villa.
